The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists and pedestrians that the Dump to Moravia roadway, in the vicinity of Silent Hill, has been reopened to vehicular traffic. The corridor was closed last year after being rendered impassable resulting from a breakaway.
Community Relations Officer of the NWA, Howard Hendricks, says that while the corridor has been reopened, it is only accommodating vehicular traffic in a single lane as the rehabilitative works continue. The project is now 70 percent complete.
The project which began in March, this year, has among its scope of works, the construction of drains, installation of culverts and the erection of a retaining wall.
The 12 million dollar project is expected to be completed by the end of July and will result in a safer corridor for residents of Moravia, Silent Hill Dump, Christiana and Alston
Motorists and pedestrians are advised to continue to obey the instructions flag persons and posted traffic signs.
