The National Works Agency (NWA) is undertaking a $7.7 Million Hot Mix Patching Programme along several critical roadways in St Elizabeth.

Community Relations Officer for the NWA’s Southern Region, Howard Hendriks, says that the programme targets 8 road sections across the parish of St. Elizabeth. Mr. Hendricks says that emphasis is being placed on the worse affected sections of the targeted roadways.

Among the roadways that have received attention are the Park to Mountainside corridor; the Aberdeen to Quickstep roadway; the stretch of roadway from Luana to Sandy Ground and the Southfield to Portsea main road.

Mr. Hendriks says that work will now continue on the Redgate to Washfoot Gully and Pizgah to Ginger Hill roadways.

The works, which got underway on July 27, 2017, are expected to be completed before the end of August 2017. These repairs are being undertaken by one of the NWA’s Force Account Teams, through the Road Maintenance Fund.

Motorists are being advised to obey the posted warning signs and instructions of flag persons.
