Seventeen road sections remain impassable in four parishes, while several others are only opened to single lane access, resulting from the continuous rainfall affecting the island.

The parish of St. Andrew accounts for most of the roadways that are impassable. Eight road sections remain inaccessible. The impassable roads are in the communities of Mavis Bank, Robertsfield, Halls Delight, Westphalia, Dallas, Flamstead, Kintyre and Lime Tree.

Seven roadways remain impassable in the parish of St. Thomas. These include the main road linking the parish to Portland. This road is impassable at Hordley Crossing, due to excessive flooding. Other roads in the parish that are impassable are Bath to Barrett’s Gap, Yallahs to Petersfield, White Hall to Hillside, the Yallahs Ford, Trinityville to Cedar Valley and Trinityville to Mount Vernon.

In St. Catherine, the main road from Williamsfield to Glengoffe is blocked in the community of Center Cut. The Bog Walk Gorge is also closed to vehicular traffic.

Over in Clarendon, the main road from Alley to Rest remains impassable, as the approach to the bridge has been washed out. The Comfort main road is also impassable.

In the meantime, teams from the NWA continue to attempt the reopening of affected roadways. Over twenty road sections have been reopened to single lane access. The agency however continues to be challenged by the continuous rainfall.
