Following the recent theft of survey information for the Montego Bay Bypass, the National Works Agency (NWA) is advising commuters that the survey teams will on November 15 and 17 be once again executing the survey. The study will be conducted at several points in and around the city of Montego Bay.

The data, which was previously collected in early November, was among items in a motor vehicle which was stolen at the home of a member of the survey team in Portmore.

Community Relations Officer for the NWA’s Western Region, Janel Ricketts, says that the survey involves traffic counts and interviews with motorists to determine their travel patterns. This data will inform the decision making process for the much anticipated Montego Bay Bypass.

Ms Ricketts says that the areas which are being targeted include the intersection of the Bogue Road and Alice Eldemire Drive; Fairfield Avenue and Barnett Street; the North Coast Highway and Morgan Road intersection; Salt Spring and Green Pond Roadway. The survey will also target the Portobello main road.

The surveys are being executed by the National Road Operating and Construction Company (NROCC), Stanley Consultants Incorporated and the NWA with the support of Police personnel.
