The National Works Agency has fully reopened four of the five roads that were left impassable in St. Ann last night, as a result of heavy rains. The Fern Gully main road however has be re-opened to single lane access only. Seven roadways in St. Mary have also been reduced to single lane access.

Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw says the Agency has fully reopened Main Street and bottom Milford Road in Ocho Rios. The roadway from White River to Newstead Bridge, which had been partially blocked and the Pimento Walk parochial road have also been reopened.

Motorists using the Fern Gully main road should expect some delays as the corridor has been badly scoured.

In St. Mary, the roadways from Trinity to Fontabelle, Oracabessa to Union Hill, Union Hill to Lambkin Hill, Rio Nuevo to Lambkin Hill, Prospect to Charles Town to Content, Charles Town to Three Hills and Lucky Hill to Goshen have all been reduced to single lane access.

Mr. Shaw says the roadways have been badly scoured and motorists using them should exercise caution. Caution is also being advised in the Junction. An existing landslide located near the community of Georgia continues to threaten the roadway.
