The National Works Agency has commenced work on the Kintyre Road, which has been impassable since last week’s six-day rainfall.

Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the NWA,Stephen Shaw says the NWA commenced works today to repair the western abutment of the Kintyre Bridge, which was washed out during the heavy rains, as well as to re-establish the approach road to the Ford.   Mr. Shaw says works will also be carried out to realign a section of the Hope River.

In the meantime, the NWA will also be continuing de-silting works on both the Chalky and Bull Park Rivers in St. Andrew.  Works are also expected to begin this week on the Yallahs Ford in St. Thomas.
