The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising the public that the main road at the intersection of West and Harbour Streets in Port Antonio, Portland, will be reduced to single lane on Tuesday, February 28.  The closure of one of the two lanes is to facilitate the completion of infrastructural works on a building. Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw, says that during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, the roadway will accommodate only single lane traffic at the intersection.  Mr. Shaw says that due to the layout of the town and the close proximity of the buildings to the roadway, the road closure is necessary to increase the safety of motorists and pedestrians who have to use the area. The NWA is advising persons to exercise caution while using the roadway during the period of closure and to obey the instructions of flag persons and posted warning signs.
