NWA is Advising Temporary Changes to Traffic Movement along Roadways in Black River, St. Elizabeth

The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists and pedestrians that there will be temporary changes to traffic movement along sections of roadways in Black River, St. Elizabeth from 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2014 until 10:00 p.m. on Friday, August 01, 2014. This is to facilitate the Black River Chamber of Commerce in association with the St. Elizabeth Parish Council hosting of the Black River Day 2014.

The temporary changes will affect the following roadways.

  • High Street will be closed between Church Street and Market Street.
  • School Street will become one-way for motorists travelling from the direction of RBC Royal Bank to the Jamaica Public Service Company Limited and also for motorists travelling from the direction of High Street to Station Alley in the vicinity of the Anglican Church.
  • Station Alley will become a one-way for motorists travelling between North Street (Methodist Church) and High Street and will then become two-way to accommodate motorists travelling into Black River from the direction of the bridge.

The NWA is advising motorists and pedestrians to proceed with caution and obey the posted warning signs and the instructions of flag persons.
