The parish of Hanover is benefitting from a $30 million-dollar hot mix patching programme now being undertaken by the National Works Agency (NWA).
Community Relations Officer for the NWA’s Western Region, Janel Ricketts, says the project targets approximately 10,000 square metres of roadway and will address some of the worst-affected sections of a number of roadways across the parish. These include the Green Island to Glasgow; Rock Spring to Parish Border; Great River to Kew Bridge and Flint River to Cascade corridors.
These projects are being undertaken by the Agency’s Force account teams and also through direct contracting. The programme, which commenced in early January, is expected to be completed by the end of February 2019.
This latest effort by the NWA will complement earlier road repair works undertaken across the parish, in December 2018, where approximately 4,000 square metres of roadway were patched through an Islandwide Spray Patching Programme. Among the roadways given attention then were the Lethe to Burnt Ground main road; the stretch of roadway between Cash Hill and Dundee and the Kingsvale to Prospect corridor.
