As the National Works Agency continues its effort at improving the condition of bridges on the main road network, 11 new structures are soon to commence, under the R.A.Murray programme.
The bridges for which contractors are now being procured are:
- Black River, Portland
- Queens River, Hanover
- Martha Brae, Trelawny
- Milk River, Clarendon
- Waterloo Road, St. Andrew
- Johnson River, St. Thomas
- Angels River, Clarendon
- Sevens River, St. James
- Gordon Town, St. Andrew
- Bog Walk, St. Catherine
- Worthy Park, St. Catherine
Construction of these bridges is expected to cost just under 1.2 billion Jamaican dollars. An Additional eight bridges are being submitted for design, fabrication and construction. These are:
- Halls Head, St. Thomas
