The National Works Agency (NWA) and the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPSCo) would like to advise the public that the Bog Walk Gorge will be closed tomorrow, July 19, to vehicular traffic. The closure which will be between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. is to facilitate the replacement of downed JPSCo transmission poles.

The NWA says that the closure of the roadway is necessary as the JPSCo will be using large equipment to effect the works. The presence of the equipment will restrict and affect the flow of traffic. The urgent restoration of the line is critical to ensure security of electricity supply to over 100 thousand JPSCo customers.

Motorists are being advised to use alternative routes such as Sligoville, Red Hills or Barry during the period of closure.
