The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists that the Broadgate to Agualta Vale main road in St. Mary, in the vicinity of Chovey, has been reduced to single lane usage. This change will remain in effect until end May 2013.
The road was reduced to single lane usage on April 2, 2013 to facilitate works to the intersection and approach roads at the Westmoreland Bridge Construction site in the area. The Westmoreland Bridge is being constructed under the Jamaica Development Infrastructure Programme (JDIP), because the old Truss bridge was destroyed during the passage of Tropical Storm Gustav in 2008.
Motorists and other road users are being asked to obey the instructions of flag persons and posted warning and directional signs
