The National Work Agency (NWA) is advising motorist and pedestrians that Constant Spring Road in the vicinity of Grants Pen Road will be reopened to two- lane traffic use at 6:00 o’clock, Friday morning, March 13, 2015.
The NWA is also advising that the Grants Pen Ford that was closed temporarily to facilitate the road improvement works will also be reopened.
The Constant Spring Road and the Grants Pen Ford were closed during the past week to facilitate improvement to the roadway at the intersection of Grants Pen Road and Constant Spring Road.
The fibre concrete pavement at the Ford was extended to Constant Spring Road. The use of fibre concrete wearing surface along this section of the roadway will reduce the maintenance needed for this section of the corridor as fibre concrete has a greater tolerance for water than Asphaltic Concrete which is carried by vehicles passing through the fording onto the roadway.
The repairs were done in house by one of the Agency’s Force Account Teams.
