Traffic along Camp Road will be reduced intermittently to single lane throughout the course of this weekend, Friday, April 19 to Monday, April 22 as storm water pipes are to be installed across the existing roadway.
According to the National Works Agency’s (NWA) Communication and Customer Services Manager, Stephen Shaw, the works will take place in three locations along the project area to include Camp Gate, St. Hugh’s High school entrance and Canon Ball Gate.
The works, he says, have been scheduled for the upcoming Easter weekend to minimize the impact on the motoring public. This weekend’s activities are the only planned drainage improvement works that will affect the existing roadway.
The Camp Road MIDP road improvement project is now 15% complete with sidewalk installation, boundary wall construction and pipe-laying activities now in high gear. The US$2.2 million-dollar project, which commenced in mid-March, is being implemented under a six-month contract.
