The National Works Agency (NWA) is currently undertaking a Hotmix Patching programme along selected roadways in the northeastern parishes of Portland and St. Mary. The works, which form part of a routine maintenance programme, targets nine hundred and fifty-two (952) square metres of roadway in the two parishes.

The patching programme began on October 1, and is being funded by the Routine Maintenance Fund (RMF) at a combined cost of just over $2.63 million dollars. The programme is scheduled to be completed in two weeks.

Roadways that will benefit under the current programme are the Oracabessa to Union Hill, Frankfurt to Gayle, and the stretch from Broadgate to Agualta Vale, in St. Mary. In Portland, the roads from Boundbrook to Rio Grande, Folly to Boundbrook, and Fair Prospect to Folly will be targeted for patching.

Motorists are being advised to obey the posted warning signs and instructions of flag persons.
