Micro Surfacing Works for St. Ann/Trelawny

Approximately 44,000 metres square of Micro Surfacing road repairs are to be carried out along the section of road, 4.2 kilometres in length, between Bengal Bridge in St. Ann and the Martha Brae Overpass in Trelawny,

 

The works are scheduled to begin on Wednesday August 12, 2015 and expected to be completed within eight weeks. The repairs to be carried out along this section of the roadway are a continuation of Periodic Maintenance of the North Coast Highway which began in 2014.

 

These works include, cleaning of the pavement, washing, sweeping and removing all silt from the surface and then applying two coats of Micro Surfacing material. The roadway will then be marked and Raised Pavement Markers, “Cat Eyes” installed.

 

The contract is awarded to Micro Surfacing Company Limited for an amount of $27.2 million.

 

The NWA is advising motorists and pedestrians to obey all posted warning and directional signs and the instructions of flag persons while work is in progress.
