Multi-million dollar patching Programme being undertaken in the Kingston Metropolitan Region

The National Works Agency (NWA) has commenced a multi-million dollar road patching programme, targeting heavily used corridors in the Kingston Metropolitan Region. Thirty-three (33) corridors will benefit through this progamme, valued at 10 million dollars.

The programme which is being funded through the Road Maintenance Fund (RMF) started today (Thursday, September 11) and is expected to be completed within a month.

In Kingston, eleven corridors will be addressed. Approximately 1,483 square metres of patching will be undertaken on these corridors. These include Windward Road, Spanish Town Road, the stretch from Harbour View to Bull Bay, Marcus Garvey Drive, Sir Florizel Glasspole Highway and Elleston Road.

In St. Andrew, approximately 1,740 square metres of patching will be undertaken along twenty-one (21) corridors. Among the targeted corridors are: Constant Spring Road, Red Hills Road, Washington Boulevard, Molynes Road, Waltham Park Road, Hagley Park Road, Hope Road, Half Way Tree Road, Fairway Avenue, Oxford Road, Lyndhurst Road and Marescaux Road. Some 250 square metres of patching will also be done along the Nelson Mandela Highway in St. Catherine.

The NWA is advising motorists, who use these roadways, to expect some delays as the works are being carried out, and to obey posted warning signs and the instructions of flag persons while the patching in progress.
