The National Works Agency (NWA) apologizes to property owners along Constant Spring Road whose accesses are being impacted by ongoing infrastructural improvement works along some sections of the corridor.
NWA’s Communication and Customer Services Manager, Stephen Shaw explains that these activities are now concentrated along the western side of the corridor, between Hillman Road and Mary Brown’s Corner. He says, at least for the next week, the works will impede access to properties and side roads in that area.
Mr. Shaw says every effort will be made, where possible, to allow persons access to properties from Constant Spring Road. He says, however that a schedule or regularity of access cannot be guaranteed, based on the nature of the works currently being undertaken.
Some 2.5 kilometers of water pipes and 600 meters of storm water drains are now being installed, which will significantly advance the pipe-laying component of the Constant Spring Road Improvement Project.
In addition, as the NWA pushes to complete all pipe-laying and trenching activities in the upcoming weeks, works are scheduled for 24-hour shifts starting today (Monday, February 11) into the weekend. As such residents should expect some level of noise from the work area during the nighttime.
The NWA again apologizes for any inconvenience caused and continues to urge motorists and property owners to obey the posted warning signs and exercise due caution when traversing the work zones.
