The National Works Agency will be embarking on major rehabilitation programme of works along a one kilometer stretch of the Rocky Point main road in Clarendon. The works on this project commenced on March 10, 2014 and are expected to be completed within four (4) weeks.

Community Relations Officer at the National Works Agency, Howard Hendriks says that these works include removal of soft spots, application of base and sub-base material, and paving with Asphaltic Concrete. Some sections of the road will also be patched as part of the effort.

The contract is for an amount of $7 million and will be undertaken by one of the NWA’s Force Account Teams. The Project is being funded by the Road Maintenance Fund (RMF).

Mr. Hendriks says that motorists who use this roadway should expect minor delays and are advised to obey the posted warning signs as well as the instructions of flag persons.
