The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists and pedestrians that effective today Monday, March 15 a temporary detour will be established along the Junction main road, just beyond the Castleton Police Station traveling in the direction of Devon Pen.
Diversion of traffic along the detour comes into effect at 2:00 p.m. today. Temporary closure of the roadway is to facilitate removal and replacement of the river Diamond and carry out repairs to a section of the roadway adjacent to the Diamond, damaged during the passage of Hurricane Sandy last year, reducing the roadway to single lane use.
When these works are complete the roadway will be reopened to traffic. The National Works Agency is advising motorists and pedestrians to obey all posted warning and directional signs and the instructions of flag persons.
