The National Works Agency (N.W.A.) and the Tourism Enhancement Fund (T.E.F.) are now jointly improving the road infrastructure in two communities in St. James.

The N.W.A. and the T.E.F have joined forces to rehabilitate a section of the Barrett Town roadway in the parish. This project is valued at approximately ten million dollars ($10 million) and involves the construction of two cross drains, a random rubble wall and a concrete ‘U’ drain.

The NWA and the TEF are also partnering to improve the drainage system in the Palmyra community through the construction of ‘U’ drains. This project is valued at approximately two million dollars ($2 million).

These projects, which are being funded by the T.E.F., are expected to be completed by the end of April 2010.

The projects form part of efforts to improve the road and drainage infrastructure in communities which significantly contribute to the Tourism Product.
