The National Works Agency (NWA) will this week close a section of Lady Musgrave Road, St. Andrew. The road will be closed at 9:00 am on Monday, November 3 and reopens on Saturday, November 8.

Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw, says that the road closure will affect the section of the corridor between its intersections with Montrose Road and Fairway Avenue. Resulting from the closure, motorists travelling from the direction of Hope Road wishing to access Trafalgar Road are being advised to use Upper Musgrave Avenue and Argyll Road. The reverse obtains for motorists wishing to access Hope Road from the direction of Trafalgar Road.

The road closure will not affect those motorists wishing to access Seaview Avenue from Lady Musgrave Road or Fairway Avenue from Argyll Road, as both corridors will remain accessible.

The closure of the section of Lady Musgrave Road is being done to facilitate a 57 million dollar rehabilitation project, which also includes work along Montrose Road. Eight hundred metres of road is being rehabilitated. The works include the removal of old Asphalt, strengthening of the roads base, construction of sidewalks and repaving using Asphaltic Concrete. The works are expected to be completed in 12 weeks.
