The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists that a section of the Red Light to Hardwar Gap main road in St. Andrew, between Mile Post 15 & 16, has been reduced to single lane usage. Heavy rains in the area during the past week have caused significant deterioration to the section of roadway, which had previously broken away.

Only small vehicles will be able to traverse this section of the roadway and the NWA is advising operators of large vehicles to use alternative routes.

Trucks travelling in the direction of Hardwar Gap from Papine should use the route through Cooperidge, Gordon Town, onto Guava Ridge, Silver Hill Gap to Hardwar Gap. The reverse obtains for trucks travelling in the direction of Papine from Hardwar Gap.

Motorists who use this roadway should proceed with caution and obey posted warning signs.
