Come this Sunday, November 1 the westbound carriageway along Washington Boulevard will be reduced to one lane in order to facilitate the completion of repairs to the deck of the Rochester Gully Bridge in the vicinity of Rubis gas station. As a result motorists heading towards Six Miles may encounter delays. Traffic heading into Kingston along Washington Boulevard will not be affected.

National Works Agency (NWA) Communications Manager, Stephen Shaw, says the works on Sunday are scheduled to be carried out between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5 p.m. But an attempt will be made to complete the works earlier.

He explains that in September some work was carried out on the structure where loose deck plates were bolted back in place. Mr. Shaw says the planned works is to attend to new areas.

Motorists travelling westbound may exercise the option of using alternative routes during the hours announced. All other motorists are reminded to exercise caution in the vicinity of the works and to obey the instructions of posted warning signs.
