The National Works Agency (NWA) will be closing the Constant Spring /West Kings House Road intersection from 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 6 until 1:00 a.m. on Monday, April 8. The closure is to allow the National Water Commission (NWC) to lower its transmission pipes so as to facilitate continued drainage improvement works at the location.
NWA’s Communication and Customer Services Manager, Stephen Shaw, explains that the NWC pipeline, which lie across the West Kings House Road entrance, has to be relocated to a greater depth to create space for the placement of storm water culverts along the area, at a later date.
Due to the restrictions, motorists are being asked to use alternative routes until the intersection is reopened Monday morning. The NWA apologises for any inconvenience that may result from the traffic change.
The works planned for the West Kings House Road intersection at the weekend is the only outstanding activity under the drainage improvement component of the Constant Spring Road project. The laying of water pipelines and pavement works continue at other sections of the project.
