The National Works Agency (NWA) has identified another 40 corridors and intersections in Kingston and St. Andrew for work under its special work programme, implemented two weeks ago.
Under the programme, the NWA through contractors did significant work along some major corridors, including Maresceux Road; Heroes Circle; Caledonia Avenue, as well as the intersection of Oxford Road and Old Hope Road. The Oxford Road/Knutsford Boulevard intersection was also repaired, as well as the sections of Mona Road, Hope Road and Old Hope Road.
Work was also completed along both the westbound and eastbound lanes of the Sir Florizel Glasspole Highway and Michael Manley Boulevard. Over 30 corridors and intersections were completed under the first phase of the programme.
Manager, Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw says that among the areas to be targeted through the continuation of the programme are Marcus Gravey Drive, Lyndhurst Road, Washington Boulevard, Ripon Road, Hagley Park Road, Deanery Road, August Town Road, Molynes Road, Spanish Town Road and Meadowbrook Avenue.
Mr. Shaw says that the intersections at Waltham Park Road/Hagley Park Road, inclusive of Gratings; Halfway Tree Road and Chelsea Avenue; Constant Spring Road/West Road; Molynes Road and Waltham Park Road will also be repaired under the programme.
This phase of the works is to be completed within the next six weeks. The public is being advised to obey the instructions of flag-persons and posted signs.
