Resulting from an oil spill earlier today, a section of the left lane of the west bound carriage way in the vicinity of Caymanas Crossing along the Mandela Highway has been closed to vehicular traffic.
Material was placed on the roadway to absorb the oil that was spilled. This material may contribute to a dust nuisance and the possibility of motorists developing a skid.
The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists and pedestrians to approach this section of the roadway with extreme caution as we continue to monitor the situation while additional clean up continues.
