The Hope Bay to Chipshall roadway in the community of Shrewsbury, western Portland will be closed temporarily, on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
This temporary closure of the roadway is to facilitate emergency works to replace a damaged culvert which occurred during heavy rains and flash flooding during the week of December 15, 2014 at the site of a breakaway.
The alternative route for motorists in Shrewsbury travelling in the direction of St. Margaret’s Bay is Mount Pleasant, Rock Hall, onto Mount Industry and then onto St. Margaret’s Bay. The reverse obtains for motorists travelling from the direction of St. Margaret’s Bay towards Shrewsbury.
The National Works Agency is advising motorists and pedestrians to obey all posted warning and directional signs and the instructions of flag persons while work is in progress.
