The National Works Agency (NWA) is about to carry out emergency works to restore a collapsed culvert along the Claremont Park to Malvern Well (Bigwoods) corridor in South West   St Elizabeth. This project will start on Monday December 15, 2014 and should be completed in eight weeks at a cost of $10 million.

Community Relations Officer for the South Region, Howard Hendriks says that the scope of works include, site clearance, excavation, construction of box culvert, removal of old asphalt, replacement of base course material and paving with Asphaltic Concrete. Pot hole patching will also be carried out along the corridor.

The project is contracted to Dwight Construction Limited.

Sections of the roadways will be reduced to single lane traffic daily. While this operation is in progress the NWA is asking motorists and pedestrians to obey posted warning signs and the instruction of flag persons.

The NWA apologizes for any inconveniences these changes to traffic movement may cause and request the cooperation and understanding of motorists and pedestrians who use this corridor.
