Rehabilitative work is to resume along the Caine shop to Highgate Hall main road in Manchester. An additional 10 million dollars has been approved for this project. The road which is a major link between Christiansa, Manchester and heavily populated farming communities of South Trelawny had earlier this year received attention through an allocation of $8 million.
Community Relations Officer of the South Region, Howard Hendriks says the resumption works commenced on December 10, 2014 and should be completed by January 10, 2015. The works include removal of old asphalt, laying of new base, priming and paving with Asphaltic Concrete. Some sections will also be patched and drainage improvement works done.
Mr. Hendriks says that these works will be completed by an NWA Force Account Team. The improved roadway will provide smooth passage for commuters from Lorrimors, Silent Hill, Coleyville, Troy, Moravia, Craighead, Cedberg, Christiana and Albert Town.
Motorists and pedestrians are being advised to exercise caution when traversing this busy corridor during the period of the works.
