The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists that the Bog Walk Gorge, in St. Catherine is now open to traffic. The roadway was temporarily closed due to flooding which resulted from heavy rains associated with the outer band of Tropical Storm Isaac.

The NWA is however advising that the Williamsfield to Glengoffe main road, St. Catherine in the vicinity of Mount Industry is still impassable. There is no alternative route. The Zion Hill Bridge to Free Town main road is also blocked at Bamboo Corner. Teams have been dispatched to both locations to reopen the roadways.

Motorists should proceed with caution along these roadways as they are slippery, heavily silted and there are scoured out sections. They should also obey posted warning signs and the instructions of flag persons.
