The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists that the nightly closure of Red Hills Road, in the vicinity of the Washington Boulevard /Dunrobin Ave/ Red Hills Road Interchange, has been extended to Sunday, January 30, 2011. This closure will be in effect during the hours of 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw, says this closure is to facilitate ongoing road improvement works along Washington Boulevard/ Dunrobin Avenue, by Contractor, Surrey Paving and Aggregates Limited, as part of the US23-million dollar Washington Boulevard Improvement Project.
The alternative route for motorists travelling south-bound along Red Hills Road is:-
- Elizabeth Avenue, onto West Avenue, then Lindsay Crescent, onto Dunrobin Avenue, then onto Red Hills Road via the South-East Ramp of the Red Hills Road/Dunrobin Avenue Interchange.
- The reverse obtains for north-bound traffic along Red Hills Road (except that these motorists will now have to use the South-West Ramp instead of the South-East Ramp, at the Interchange).
The NWA is advising affected persons to obey all posted warning signs and flag persons, deployed along the route.
