Effective today, Tuesday February 10, 2015, the National Works Agency is advising road users that delays may be experienced while traversing King Street in St. James. These delays will be experienced periodically, over the next three weeks.

The Kings Street corridor serves several communities including Canterbury, Salt Spring, Capital Heights, Green Pond and Cornwall Courts.

Community Relations Officer for the NWA’s Western Region, Janel Ricketts, says that local contractor Asphalt Construction and Paving Solutions will be constructing just over half a kilometer of sidewalk along the lower end of the King Street roadway. Additionally, Kerb walls will also be constructed along a section of the corridor.

This project is expected to be completed by the end of February 2015.

Motorists are being advised to obey the posted warning signals and instructions of flag persons.
