The National Work Agency (NWA) will tomorrow (Monday, March 9, 2015) implement a one-way system along a section of Constant Spring Road in St. Andrew. The affected section of road is in the vicinity of the Grants Pen Road intersection. This section of road was on Friday reduced to single lane usage in order to facilitate construction work. The Grants Pen Ford was also closed.

Manager Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw says that the one-way system will be implemented during the morning and afternoon peak hours. Between the hours of 6:00 am and 9:30 am, the affected section of Constant Spring Road will facilitate traffic heading from the direction of Manor Park towards Dunrobin Avenue. The reverse will obtain between the hours of 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm.

Mr. Shaw says motorists wishing to head in the direction of Manor Park during the morning peak hours are advised to use Central Avenue and West Avenue, which lead back to Constant Spring Road. The reverse will obtain for those motorists wishing to head in the direction of Dunrobin Avenue during the afternoon peak hours.

Mr. Shaw says the traffic changes are expected to be in place until Friday, March 13, when the first phase of the road works are expected to be complete.

He is advising motorists to add another 20 minutes to their travel times in order to minimize likely delays that the traffic changes may cause. Motorists and pedestrians are also being reminded to obey all posted warning and directional signs as well as the instructions of flag persons.
