The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising that the Westmoreland Bridge, located along the Chovey main road in St. Mary is safe and in no danger of collapsing.

Persons have been calling the Agency and the media reporting that they have information that the bridge was collapsing.

Manager, Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw says that the bridge which was opened in August 2013 and spans approximately 180 metres remains safe to be used by all road users.

He says that there has been no damage of any kind to the structure and statements about it collapsing are not true.
