The National Works Agency (NWA) in collaboration with BMR Energy is advising motorists and pedestrians that the Malvern to Southfield main road in southern St. Elizabeth will be reduced to single lane use on Saturday September 5, 2015 between 6:00 a.m. and 6 p.m.
The single lane traffic flow is to facilitate the BMR Energy use of heavy equipment to construct a cable trench by the BMR site office in the vicinity of Hermitage along the Malvern to Southfield corridor.
The scope of works for the project involves the cutting of existing road surface, excavation to achieve required depth for laying of electrical pipes, concrete covering to pipes, and backfill on top of concrete, compacting and resurfacing of roadway.
The NWA is also advising motorists and pedestrians to obey all posted warning signs and the instructions of flag persons during the construction works.
