The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists that there could be delays when using the Bog Walk Gorge tomorrow, Tuesday, December 1, 2015. The NWA will be engaging work crews to remove an overgrowth of Water Lillies in the Rio Cobre.
Manager, Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw says that the work crews will be using heavy equipment to assist in removing the Lillies from the river. This will then be transported in trucks away from the area.
He says the use of heavy equipment in the vicinity of the roadway is likely to cause a reduction in the available space for motorists, hence the possible delays.
The work is expected to get underway at 10:00 a.m. and be completed by 4:00 p.m.
In the meantime, Mr. Shaw is advising that the traffic signal at the Flat Bridge is now back in service after being repaired earlier today. The lights had been out since the weekend, due to a fault with an important component.
