The National Works Agency (NWA) has commenced a major Hot Mix Patching programme across the Corporate Area. The programme valued at over $85 million dollars and will target ninety-four roadways across Kingston and St. Andrew.
Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw, says that under the programme approximately 29,300 square metres of roadway will be patched. Preparatory works commenced last week and patching is to begin this week along some corridors. The programme is expected to improve traffic flow along the selected roadways.
He says that among the roadways to be patched are Garden Boulevard, Maxfield Avenue, Moreton Park Terrace, Norbrook Crescent, Old Hope Road, Red Hills Road, Spanish Town Road, Elspeth Avenue and Queensberry Avenue.
Other roads to be targeted include Wireless Station Road, Brooks Level Road, Golden Spring to Mount Airy, Harbour View to Bull Bay, Gordon Town Road, Lindo’s Gap to Constitutional Hill and Cooperage to Guava Ridge.
Mr. Shaw says that that the programme is being undertaken through the NWA’s Force Account Teams and is expected to be completed within two months.
Motorists are being advised to obey posted warning signs and the instruction of flag persons.
