The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising the public that a section of Retirement Road in St. Andrew will be closed this weekend. The road will be closed at its intersection with Lyndhurst Road to facilitate repairs.
Manager, Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw says that a section of the road had failed posing a threat to the public. The road will be closed at 8:00 am on Saturday and is expected to be reopened on Sunday evening.
Resulting from the closure, motorists travelling from Cross Roads, towards Lyndhurst Road are being advised to use Studio One Boulevard then onto Lyndhurst Road. The reverse will obtain for persons travelling from the direction of Lyndhurst Road and would normally travel along the lower section of Retirement Road.
Motorists are being advised to obey the instructions of the flag persons and posted warning signs.
