The Bog Walk Gorge, St. Catherine has been closed with immediate effect, as sections of the road are now flooded.

The police have been advised to check the area and ensure that all persons are outside the Gorge and thereafter have the gates closed.

The flooding has been caused by heavy rainfall in sections of St. Mary and St. Catherine over the last 24 hours.

In the meantime, the main road from Lewisburg to Freetown in St. Mary is now impassable, resulting from landslides. The NWA has moblised a team to respond early tomorrow.

The main road from Stettin to Highgate Hall in Trelawny that was earlier this afternoon impassable due to landslides has been reopened to single lane traffic. The road was blocked in the community of Wait-a-bit.
