The National Works Agency (NWA) is currently undertaking a major effort to improve the driving conditions along several critical roadways in St. James. This is being done through a $23 Million Hot Mix Patching Programme.
Community Relations Officer for the NWA’s Western Region, Janel Ricketts, says that the programme targets 22 road sections across the parish. Ms Ricketts says that emphasis will be placed on the worse affected sections of the targeted roadways.
Among the roadways which are slated to receive attention are the Anchovy to Shettlewood corridor, the stretch of roadway between Anchovy and Mt. Horeb; the Barnett to Adelphi main road; and the Johns Hall to Stapleton roadway.
The programme, which is now in the preliminary stages, is expected to be completed by the end July 2017.
Motorists are being advised to obey the posted warning signs and instructions of flag persons.
