The Marley Avenue roadway, located in Old Harbour, St. Catherine, is receiving a major upgrade through a $36 Million Dollar road improvement contract which is now underway.
Acting Communication and Customer Services Manager at the National Works Agency (NWA), Janel Ricketts, says that the project which commenced on August 24, 2017, involves drainage improvement, the installation of sidewalks and the resurfacing of the roadway using Asphaltic Concrete.
Ms. Ricketts says that this rehabilitative effort is in the preliminary stages and is expected to be completed by October 2017.
The project is being executed through the Road Maintenance Fund, by one of the Agency’s Force Account Teams.
Motorists are being advised to obey the posted warning signs and the instructions of flag persons.
