The Stettin to Freemans Hall roadway in Southern Trelawny is receiving a major upgrade through an $18 million road improvement project, currently being undertaken by the National Works Agency (NWA).

Acting Communication and Customer Services Manager at the NWA, Janel Ricketts, says that the project involves the rehabilitation of approximately 700 metres of the roadway to include drainage improvement and the reshaping and overlay of the road surface using Asphaltic Concrete.

Ms. Ricketts says that the project, which got underway on July 2017, is now in the preliminary stages, with emphasis being placed on base formation and drainage improvement works. The project is expected to be completed by October 2017.

This road improvement project is being executed through the Housing Opportunity Prosperity Employment (HOPE) initiative, by local contractor, MAE Construction.

Motorists are being advised to obey the posted warning signs and instructions of flag persons.
