The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists that a section of Heroes Circle, Kingston will be closed to vehicular traffic this weekend. Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw says the Eastern side of the Circle between the intersection of Hitchen Street and Regent Street will be closed. The closure will be in effect from 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 13, to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 15 (2011).

Mr. Shaw says this closure is necessary to facilitate the laying of drainage pipes along this section of the road in order to facilitate better storm water management.

Resulting from the closure, motorists heading towards Heroes Circle from the direction of Marescaux Road will keep left of the Circle. Motorists heading from the direction of Downtown Kingston wishing to travel towards Marescaux Road are expected to do the same.

The National Works Agency is advising affected persons to obey posted warning signs and flag persons, deployed within the area during the period of closure.

The stretch of roadway between Hitchen Street and Regent Street is expected to be reopened at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.
