The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising the public that emergency works are slated to begin today, October 6, on Constant Spring Road in the vicinity of Marketplace, where a sewer line has caused major failure in a section of the roadway. Resulting from the failure, three of the five available lanes have been closed to vehicular traffic.

Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw, says that the NWA is now working with the National Water Commission (NWC) to have the sewer line repaired and the roadway reinstated. Mr. Shaw says that the three lanes will remain closed for, at least, the next three days while the works are being undertaken.

Motorists are being advised to use alternate routes, where possible, and those who do use Constant Spring Road, are advised to expect delays as only two of the five lanes are accessible to vehicular traffic, at this time. The available lanes represent one lane for northbound traffic and one lane for southbound traffic.
