MANDEVILLE, MANCHESTER:

Transport Minister Mike Henry has disclosed that work is to start on the Sandy Bay to Williamsfield leg of Highway 2000 by April.

The south coast segment of Highway 2000 is aimed at connecting Kingston with Montego Bay.

Henry says the roadway will help in the development of Jamaica's south coast.

Meanwhile, Henry says funding is being sought to begin constructing the Bushy Park to Ocho Rios leg of the north coast segment of the highway.
