The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists and pedestrians that the Agency has commenced a programme of Hot Mix patching under the Capital A J$200M Patching Works Programme. This programme is designed to improve road condition of selected roadways in St. Elizabeth and improve traffic flow along these corridors.

Patching has started on the four road sections of Pedro Cross to Lititz, Black River to Pedro Cross, Lacovia to Vauxhall and the Santa Cruz Clinic road. The works which began on December 23 are scheduled to last for two weeks and should be completed by January 8, 2014.

Community Relations Officer of the NWA Southern Region, Howard Hendriks says that these projects are to be undertaken by one of the Agency’s Force Account Teams at a cost of eight million dollars. Mr. Hendriks says that approximately 3150 M2 of patching will be undertaken along these road sections.

The NWA is advising motorists and pedestrians to obey posted warning and directional signs and the instructions of flag persons while work is in progress.
