May Pen Railway Bridge to be closed for Repairs

The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists and pedestrians that the May Pen Railway Bridge, located along Main Street in Clarendon, will be closed for six weeks, from Monday, March 28, 2011 until Monday, May 16, 2011.

Closure of the bridge is to facilitate repairs to its superstructure.

Motorists travelling from the direction of Mineral’s Heights or Palmer’s Cross towards the town centre should use the alternative route, Chenton Road, Bustamante Highway, Glenmuir Road, Anderson Drive then onto the town centre. The reverse obtains for motorists travelling from the town centre in the direction of Mineral’s Heights or Palmer’s Cross. 

The NWA is also advising motorists and pedestrians to obey all posted warning signs and the instructions of flag persons while work is in progress.
