The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising that effective Monday, February 12, 2024, road users traversing the section of Kent Avenue, in the vicinity of the Sandals Montego Bay, may experience minor delays. These delays may be experienced over the next three weeks as the Agency works to improve the drainage features along the roadway.
Community Relations Officer for the NWA’s Western Region, Janel Ricketts, says the project will target the area of the roadway in the vicinity of the service entrance to the Sandals property. The works will involve the excavation of the targeted section of the roadway and the installation of a concrete U drain, across the roadway.
Ms. Ricketts says that in an effort to reduce disruptions to traffic, the roadway will remain open during the period of work, however sections of the corridor will be reduced to single lane access.
Motorists are being advised to obey the posted warning signs and instructions of flag persons.
