Manager, Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw, explains that between 8 a.m. on Saturday, August 25 and 5 p.m. on Sunday, August 26 the laying of storm water drains will continue across Waltham Park Road along the intersection’s western approach. He says as a result, traffic approaching the intersection from the direction of Woodpecker Avenue, Keesing Avenue or Molynes Road will not be able to enter the intersection directly. They will instead be able to do so via McArthur Avenue on to Queensbury or Clunies Avenue to exit on to Hagley Park Road in the vicinity of Superior Honda. Motorists will thereafter make a right turn on to Hagley Park Road to travel toward Waltham Park Road. Motorists approaching the intersection from the direction of Chisolm Avenue will make the right turn on to Hagley Park Road, then turn left on to Queensbury or Clunies Avenue, travel on to McArthur Avenue to exit on to Waltham Park Road. While motorists who are travelling from the direction of Three Miles will go across the intersection, turn left on to Queensbury or Clunies Avenue and travel along the remaining sections of the detour route. The necessary road signs and flag persons will be positioned along the detour route to direct motorists, who are being reminded to obey the instructions. The NWA says that as the infrastructural works on the Hagley Park Road Improvement Project continue over the next few months, traffic changes will be implemented from time to time to facilitate the progress of the works. The Agency is therefore urging the motoring public to monitor the media for updates and apologizes for any inconvenience caused.
